A spam quote from the past:

"By definition, people who work together to send spam that violates provisions of either the recently passed federal CAN SPAM Act or the many state anti-spam laws, or the Federal Trade Commission Act (which outlaws deceptive business practices in general) constitute organized crime."

-- Stephen Cobb, 2003, Security Wire

Additional sources that we find useful for staying current with information security news include Google Alerts. These allow you to get the news daily, weekly, or "as it happens," based on your own particular concerns, expressed in search terms. For example, if you need to be warned of malicious code outbreaks then you can create an alert that will be sent as news breaks. However, if you would prefer a more general daily roundup of computer security stories, you can get that, or get them both, for free.
